Tablet

So, now I also have a tablet .

Some prefaces :

There are a lot of pros and contras about the benefits of a tablet .
My personal opinion :
It's a nice gimmick if you already own a PC / notebook or smartphone.

I have long time thought about what tablet.
Leaders were the
- Apple IPad 3 and
- Asus Transformer Pad TF700F .

These are all-rounder with at least one full- HD display, quad-core and even the Asus has included docking keyboard.

The price stopped me to purchase such a thing.
More than 700 € for a tablet was just too much for a device with which I surf a little and read e -mails.
This money I would rather get stuck into my PC , which I also have been playing occasionally.

However, I had minimum requirements for such a device :
- 10 inch display
- Dual -core

One day in the cold month of December 2012, shortly before the Apocalypse, I saw following daily offer:

- Captiva Pad 10

It was the day offer for € 179, - including shipping costs instead of € 259, - .

This unit I have now bought and tested.

Preliminary: it cannot be compared with an Apple IPad or Asus Transformer, but with a Samsung Galaxy Tab.

After I was able to test for a long time this device, I allow myself following review:

- The operating time is with enabled wi-fi just 2-3 hours, which is much too low.
- My SSID is hidden. Despite the stored data this unit takes forever to login!
- The wifi connection is pretty bad - not even 30 mbit

But positive things can also be reported:
It has an USB output, which the fewest tablets obtain.
Furthermore, a mini- HDMI output is installed.

The device is quite big laying in the hands, and I had somehow imagined it smaller. I think this is related to the wide edge.

The operating system is Android 4.1.
The process is very fluid and the rotation happens quickly and automatically.
In nether application (even not in games) I could feel stuttering.

The display has a good resolution of 1200x800 pixel.

I do not regret buying this device and it will remain good value.

For people who are only on internet, retrieve e -mails and occasionally play games a tablet is in my opinion the best alternative to a PC.
You always have a computer beside and you can take it on your vacation.
These people then do not need a another computer or notebook.

Who, however, plays processor - and graphics-intensive games or needs such programs, a tablet will not be an alternative but is a nice gimmick.
